ABOUT

Onoma Productions is an artistic collective and film production company founded in 2018.

Our aim is to produce high quality groundbreaking works with a strong artistic vision. With diversity both in front of the camera and behind it, we want to grapple with thorny issues and contribute to a complex, challenging but relatable image of Sweden and the world.

The Store had its world premiere on October 12th at the 2022 BFI London Film Festival.

Swedish writer-director Ami-Ro Sköld and Onoma Productions proudly present a feature length film set in a near-future Sweden where jobs are scarce, margins are tight and corporate profit trumps all.

“The film depicts how vulnerable groups are pitted against each other to compete for less and less. Through zero-hour contracts we’re building a society that is so much about competition that there is no opportunity for people to be in solidarity with each other.”

– Ami-Ro Sköld

The Store blends live-action with stop motion animation to boldly convey the dehumanising and disturbingly wasteful effects of capitalism. With raw and compelling performances, The Store is a harsh but important reminder that societal change is needed.
